Room Two: Gurrborra (Koala)

In the Gurrborra room our aim is to be facilitators for the children so they can become competent and confident learners.  With collaboration of families and educators, we strive to build strong, reciprocal relationships with the children and their families, and strengthen their development by providing a meaningful play-based learning environment.

It is in this rich environment that as children grow and develop, different concepts and skills are presented and investigated, and then expanded on through intentional teaching and imaginative play that supports their language, cognitive, physical, social and emotional development.

We provide an aesthetically pleasing and homely environment.  Our programs are both indoors and outdoors and are based around the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).  We are privilege to have our own garden and play area that we share with the Warendji (Wombat) room.  This learning space provides various sensory and tactile experiences for the children in a natural environment, as well as providing opportunities to develop their gross and fine motor skills, to play and more importantly – have fun!

Each day the room can cater for up to 11 children with 3 qualified educators, allowing us to meet the children’s individual needs and routines.
