Food and Nutrition

Meals are a shared experience, where the children come together to eat and chat about their day.  Culturally diverse meals and snacks are included in our seasonal menu. Taste buds will be delighted with the way our food is flavoured using a wide selection of herbs and spices; cumin, coriander, curry powder, basil, parsley (some selected from our very own herb garden.)

All our meals are prepared daily on premises by our qualified chef using in season ingredients delivered fresh by our various suppliers. Children enjoy a variety of meals including Spaghetti Bolognese, Vegetable Soup, Lasagne, Meat and Vegetable Curries, Chilli con Carne, Tuna Pasta Bake, Shepherd’s Pie and many more. Water is consistently available for children throughout the day and with every meal.

We also provide snack times where in season fruit is offered accompanied with a selection of; muffins, crumpets, crackers and cheese, dips, raisin toast etc.

To assist with growing our vegetable patches and herb garden we have a compost bin on premises, children assist with placing scraps in the bin, turning it and pouring the beautiful dirt onto our garden. We also have a worm farm that children also assist with the maintenance of.

Our chef has completed certificate 4 in hospitality (commercial cookery) and has also attended many professional development sessions in serving/preparing meals for children.  In 2015 our menu and range of meals was assessed and approved by Healthy Eating Australia.
